Twitter to take action against idle handles
Twitter is going to purge and archive inactive accounts

Twitter will be taking action against idle handles!
The microblogging platform is gearing up to take serious action against accounts that have been inactive and are not engaged in any activity.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that the social media platform will remove accounts that have been inactive for several years.
“[Y]ou will probably see a follower count drop,” Elon Musk warned.
According to the company’s policy, its users should log into their handles once every 30 days to avoid permanent removal.
We’re purging accounts that have had no activity at all for several years, so you will probably see follower count drop

Following the announcement, many urged to reconsider actually deleting inactive accounts and all their historic tweets.
It was later clarified that some of the accounts might be archived instead of deleting them.
All accounts will be archived.
