Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker: Scenes from the set revealed

Everyone lost their minds when Heath Ledger played the role of the genius-psychopath criminal The Joker.  This was probably one of those rare times when people absolutely loved the live action adaptation of a super-villain. After all, it was one hell of a performance by Ledger in the movie. Of course, his death has left a hole in the movie industry but his work is still remembered and appreciated.

People had certain thoughts that no one can play The Joker better than Ledger. However, these speculations started to get weaker when Joaquin Phoenix was announced to play the Joker in an upcoming DC film Joker. Yes, we do know how talented Phoenix is and his acting skills cannot be doubted.

The film’s director, Todd Phillips, gave a sneak peak of Phoenix’s look in the movie on Instagram with a simple caption that said Arthur. This cleared the doubts that the prior rumors about the main character’s name to be Arthur Fleck are actually true. Nevertheless, Phillips did not indicate whether Phoenix will appear this way throughout the movie or will be seen made up as The Joker.

Later, pictures from the film set were revealed and it was pretty unexpected to see Phoenix in his normal attire. It was not the first time that he was seen in his normal clothing on a film set, but this time fans definitely expected something out there since it is about The Joker. The actor also appeared quite gloomy at the set and no possible explanations could be made about it.

It was until the rumors about the plot of the film started circulating. The film is expected to be the origin story about the Joker’s failed attempt to become a comedian and how his life leads him to the world of crimes because of that. This is why Arthur Fleck appeared a bit sad on the set, probably.

The film is set to be released in October, 2019.
