Netizens slam Anoushey Ashraf for calling a rickshaw ride an adventure!
The video of model, actress and host Anoushey Ashraf travelling in a rickshaw in Karachi, has gone viral, which she herself shared in a tweet.
Anoushey Ashraf shared a video of herself while travelling in a rickshaw. By describing the rickshaw as a cheap and quality ride and she also demanded that public transport should be made safe and accessible to everyone.
“Got offered a sympathy ride when someone saw me getting into a rickshaw 2day. I thought it’d be an adventure, was close to home, relatively safe (you can jump out) and cheap. But seeing a “well off” person in a rick can really worry ppl here! Normalise public transport for all,” Anoushey Ashraf tweeted.
Well, someone tell her, that’s already a normal and regular thing for thousands of Karachiites on daily basis!
As soon as the tweet hit the Twitter timeline the keyboard warriors mostly from Karachi came out to set some records straight.
Here is how Twitter reacts to the RICK ride experience:

Mode of transport used by people everyday is an "adventure" for our elites.
Can we please stop this fetishization of "middle-class" culture? https://t.co/dtCCvNLAyk— Usama Hamayun (@Usama_Hamayun) March 9, 2023
In the West, no one thinks about how the other person commutes, but in Pakistan, people still judge you based on such minor details.
Choti soch khatam nahi ho rahi. West main bus main travel karein ge, apna toilet khud wash karein ge, lekin yahan nakhre nai rukte https://t.co/dMtFPETsVm— Oh, Lady Mania! (@OhLadyMania) March 9, 2023

People who *actually* use public transit know that taking a rikshaw is actually something of a privilege because it's faster and costs a LOT more than a bus ride. Daily commuters can't afford to splurge on it. https://t.co/ikRg2sR5Zi
