22 Qadam Episode 3 & 4 Review: Challenging Stereotypes and Dreams

Overall, "22 Qadam" Episode 3 & 4 continues to impress with its thought-provoking storyline, stellar performances, and commendable production values.

Green Entertainment’s “22 Qadam” continues to embark on a journey filled with emotions and excitement as the drama dives deeper into breaking gender stereotypes and empowering women in society. Starring Wahaj Ali as Junaid and Hareem Farooq as Fari, episode 3 & 4 showcases their determination to prove that cricket and dreams are not bound by gender.

The story revolves around Fari and Ambar (played by Kinza Razza), who triumph in a neighborhood cricket match, winning a bet in the process. However, their joyous moment is short-lived as their mother discovers their feat through a matchmaker aunty who had come for Ambar’s proposal. Ambar’s father scolds her and Fari for engaging in such activities, but he assures them that he will support them wholeheartedly in achieving their dreams. Ambar, despite sharing the same passion for cricket as Fari, contemplates sacrificing her dreams to fulfill her mother’s wish of getting married.

Meanwhile, Fari notices Junaid and Liza (portrayed by Dur-e-Nayab), playing a practice cricket match at a nearby ground. Embarrassed by the fact that Junaid is the same person she had encountered at a bus stop, Fari insists on joining their practice and showcases her cricketing skills. Junaid reluctantly agrees to let her try out.

Liza’s father, a former national-level cricketer, dreams of seeing his daughter and Junaid excel in cricket, make it to the national team, each becoming captains, and eventually marrying to become a power couple in the cricket world. Junaid dismisses this idea with amusement, while Liza remains neutral about it.

On the other hand, Ambar’s proposal is fixed, but her father has reservations about the prospective groom, Zohaib, whom they haven’t had a chance to meet or talk to before the proposal was finalized.

The episode beautifully captures the struggles faced by women who aspire to break free from societal norms and pursue their passions. Wahaj Ali and Hareem Farooq deliver exceptional performances, bringing depth and authenticity to their characters.

The drama’s production, under the banner of IRK Films in association with Multiverse Entertainment, is commendable. The credit goes to the skilled writer, Zeeshan Ilyas, for crafting a compelling narrative, and director Anjum Shahzad for presenting it with finesse.

Overall, “22 Qadam” Episode 3 & 4 continues to impress with its thought-provoking storyline, stellar performances, and commendable production values. The drama sets a powerful example of challenging gender stereotypes and advocating for women’s empowerment, making it a must-watch for all audiences.
