Hareem Farooq is returning to the films after 5 years hiatus!

The last time Hareem Farooq appeared on the silver screen was in 2029, in the film ‘Heer Maan Ja’ starring opposite Ali Rehman Khan.

In the latest outing, Hareem Farooq will be seen playing a lead role opposite Faysal Quraishi and this will be her first Punjabi film titled “Mango Jatt

The latest film is written and directed by Abu Aleeha and is slated for release later this year.

According to the filmmakers, Mango Jatt is a high-value extravaganza that is all set to redefine Punjabi cinema and will bring together a constellation of seasoned actors from Punjab and Sindh.

 

Director Aleeha while talking about his new film said, “The film is unique in the sense that it casts seasoned theatre actors from both Punjab and Sindh. It will be a stepping stone to unite the fans of the provinces.”

Aleeha had earlier stated, “At the helm of this stellar ensemble is the inimitable Faysal Quraishi, who steps into the shoes of a Punjabi hero for the first time and will essay the title role in the film.”

Other than ‘Heer Maan Ja,’ Hareem Farooq’s popular films include Parchi, Dobara Phir Se, Janaan, Allahyar and The Legend of Markhor.

Her latest TV appearance was in Green TV’s drama featuring her as a cricketer in 22 Qadam.
