Idris Elba to replace Will Smith as Deadshot in ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel

It was a week ago when we got to know that Will Smith is exiting Suicide Squad 2. The latest we get to know is that Idris Elba is in talks to take Will Smith’s spot as Deadshot.

As being reported Will Smith left the sequel due to out of the upcoming DC Comics movie due to scheduling conflicts.

The sequel is reported to start production sometime in September as James Gun has been tapped to write and direct the film. The release date is currently set for August 6, 2021.

The original “Suicide Squad” starring Smith, Jared Leto, Robbie was a massive box office hit which released in 2016, grossing $746 million worldwide.

Ahead of “Suicide Squad 2,”, Idris Elba will appear on the big screen for “The Fast and the Furious” spinoff “Hobbs and Shaw” alongside Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

He will be also featuring in the Universal and Tom Hooper’s “Cats” adaptation with Taylor Swift, James Corden, and Jennifer Hudson.

Elba is also starring in the upcoming Netflix series “Turn Up Charlie,” which comes out this spring.
