Hollywood star will voice the character of Shadow in the third instalment of the movie

Keanu Reeves has joined the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3′ cast. 

The Hollywood star will voice the character of Shadow in the third instalment of the movie franchise. 

The character of Shadow in many ways the anti-Sonic: dark and edgy, mirroring the hero’s powers.

The film’s cast already boasts of some big names such as Ben Schwartz (who voices Sonic), and the versatile Jim Carrey, who gives his voice to the devious Dr Robotnik.

The news of the John Wick star heading to Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was broken to a jam-packed CinemaCon presentation from Paramount last week when the studio debuted the first footage for Sonic 3.

Paramount has set the release date for the video game feature on December 20.

Paramount’s Sonic franchise’s first film released in 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog, overperformed with $319 million at the global box office. 

Meanwhile, the second film released in 2022 grossed $404 million globally. 

Director Jeff Fowler is behind all three instalments of Sonic movie.
