Yes, after all, is Eid-ul-Azha even complete without a BBQ party?

A sparkling BBQ grill makes grilling more interesting since no one would want to grill deliciously marinated meat on a rusty grill that has left over burnt food. To make your barbecue preparations easier, here’s how to clean BBQ grill to avoid any displeasure and to get the best cooked BBQ

Burn the grill

It is as easy as it sounds. In fact, this is one of the methods mostly taught in culinary arts schools.

Equipment required:

  • Gas stove or any means to have an open fire
  • Degreaser or dish cleaning liquid
  • Dish cleaning steel wool
  • Dish cleaning sponge
  • Cooking oil (Room temperature)

All you have to do is to set your grill on fire (literally). When your grill is exposed to fire, all the burnt leftovers will leave the surface of the grill and shed. Once your grill does not have any leftover, apply cooking oil on the grill while it is still hot. This will grease the grill and will soften any residue. Once cold, you can scrub the grill using steel wool. The final step is to wash the grill using dishwashing liquid and sponge. There you go, you have a neat and clean BBQ grill for this grilling season.

If you are concerned that this method might pollute the environment, well, the next method is certainly going to work for you.

Baking soda with lime juice or vinegar

Equipment Required:

  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar / Lime juice
  • Dish cleaning sponge
  • Dish cleaning liquid
  • Some clean pieces of cloth

In a bowl, take a generous quantity of baking soda, pour some vinegar in and make a thick paste. Congratulations! You have mixed both the cleaning partners-in-crime together. Now you just have to wet your BBQ grill, apply this paste on it with a cloth and leave it for a few hours (overnight if needed). This will lead the paste to react with grease, burnt leftovers, and rust. When it’s time, clean the grill with the sponge and you will get a clean, tarnish-free, and rust-free sparkling BBQ grill. Just wash it using any dishwasher and voila, you’re good to go for your BBQ party.

These are some crazy cheap methods that you can use to clean your BBQ grill and make it as good as new. Happy grilling!
