Grammy-winning DJ Zedd was “permanently banned” from China after he liked a tweet from ‘South Park’, the adult animated show which has been caught in a feud with the Chinese Communist government.
Soon after being banned, the DJ himself shared on Twitter writing, “I just got permanently banned from China because I liked a South Park tweet”.

Adam Guest, senior entertainment publicist at the U.K. based SATELLITE414 agency, has also confirmed this recent development. “This is true, yes, but we don’t have any more info to give you at this time”, he told while talking to CNBC.
However, at the moment it is unclear, whether this ban means that Zedd also has a travel ban for China. As of Saturday, his music was still available on Chinese music streaming site QQ Music.
