Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng arrives in Islamabad on a three-day visit
He will be the chief guest at an event celebrating the “Decade of CPEC.”

Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng arrived in Islamabad on Sunday evening on a three-day visit to Pakistan.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and Special Assistant to the PM on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi received the Chinese vice prime minister upon his arrival in the federal capital.
During his visit to Pakistan, He Lifeng will also meet with President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Additionally, he will be the chief guest at an event celebrating the “Decade of CPEC.”
Chinese Vice Premier will attend a ceremony organized to mark 10 years of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
The visit comes as part of regular high-level exchanges and dialogue between the two nations, showcasing the significance both Pakistan and China place on their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.”

A statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO) a day earlier said that the Chinese vice premier will be in Pakistan from July 30 (today) to August 1 (Tuesday) at the federal government’s invitation to attend a ceremony celebrating a decade of CPEC as the chief guest.
It added that Lifeng would also hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Dr. Arif Alvi during the visit.
Lifeng as the chairman of China’s National Development and Reform Commission from 2017 to 2023, was “instrumental in the planning and execution of multiple CPEC projects in Pakistan”, the FO said.
The Islamabad district administration has announced that schools, colleges, and offices will remain closed for two days — on July 31 and August 1 (Monday and Tuesday).
In a notification, District Magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon said all Public and private schools, colleges, and universities will remain shut.
Furthermore, all private entities, companies; all markets/shops; all commercial banks will remain closed, the notification mentioned.
The announcement comes as He Lifeng, Vice Premier of China and Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, visit Pakistan.
