Ex-PM advisor Awan left embarrassed after guard of the govt. residence turns her away

The guard of a government-owned residence, Multan Circuit House averted the former aide of prime minister on information and broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, when she asked for accommodation in the house for a night, leaving her embarrassed, reports emerged on Sunday.

It has been learnt that the former aide of PM – accompanied by her friends and a maid— traveled from Karachi to Multan in a car and reached the city Saturday night. Upon arrival at the government residence, Awan explained that she was ex-adviser; however, the introduction left no impression.

The security officer refused her request of accommodation for a night stay as she was not holding any public office. The ex- advisor then asked for a sehri meal but the circuit house refused again. Awan consequently sent her driver to the market to purchase a meal.

Meanwhile, Dr Awan exchanged heated arguments with the security guard and continuously tried to contact the ruling PTI’s district president, Khalid Javed Warriach, and deputy commissioner Amir Khatak on her phone but their cellphones were switched off.

While contacted by a private TV channel, the caretaker Naeem Changezi said lower staff was not authorised to allot a room to any person not holding a public office, also there was no advance booking.

Changezi added that when he reached the circuit house in the morning on Sunday, she had left for Lahore by car.
