Global coronavirus cases cross 10 million mark
The global coronavirus cases tally has crossed 10 million mark on Sunday.
As per the Reuters report, As many as 4,97,000 people around the world have died due to the disease. Meanwhile, half of the reported infections are known to have recovered.
North America, Latin America, and Europe each account for around 25 percent of the cases, while Asia and the Middle East have reportedly around 11 percent and 9 percent of the total cases.
There are 38 countries including Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands, which have either defeated Covid-19 or are very close to it.
New Zealand is the only country that has surprised the world when it announced last week that it has become Covid-19 free, though some cases were reported later.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States has risen to more than 2.5 million, according to a Reuters tally, as the states including Arizona and Florida saw record rises in COVID-19 cases.
More than 125,000 Americans have died of COVID-19, the highest known death toll from the disease in the world.
Brazil recorded 38,693 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours and 1,109 additional deaths, the Health Ministry has said.

According to Reuters, Brazil has now registered 1,313,667 total confirmed cases of the virus and 57,070 deaths.
Meanwhile, India has registered its biggest surge in coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours with 19,906 new patients, according to the Indian health ministry.
As being reported, the tally of COVID-19 cases in India has now reached 528,859.
The death toll hit 16,095 after 410 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. Delhi with 80,000 cases is the worst-affected city in the country. The total number of deaths has reached 2,558 in the capital.
While China has extended Covid-19 tests to newly reopened salons amid a drop in cases. No positive cases were found in Beijing’s beauty and barbershops in a further sign that the city’s recent outbreak has been largely brought under control.
According to AP, Beijing officials have temporarily shut a huge wholesale food market where the virus spread widely, reclosed schools, and locked down some neighborhoods. Anyone leaving Beijing is required to have a negative virus test result within the previous seven days.
According to Italy’s Health Ministry data, there were eight deaths of infected patients since Friday, raising the nation’s known toll in the pandemic to 34,716.
There were 175 new cases, bringing the overall count of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Italy where Europe’s outbreak first exploded to 240,136.
