Khawaja Farooq appointed as the caretaker Prime Minister of AJK

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Senior Minister Khawaja Farooq Ahmed has been appointed as the caretaker Prime Minister of AJK!

His appointment comes as a full bench of the AJK high court disqualified Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas for contempt of court a day earlier.

Khawaja Farooq will hold office till the election of the new prime minister.

A summary of his appointment was sent by President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood to the Chief Secretary, who approved his appointment and also issued the notification.
