Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son, Asim died in an apparent suicide in his native town Tulamba on Sunday.
Asim Jamil, son of internationally renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil, lost his life due to a bullet injury in his chest.
Following the incident, Asim was moved to a hospital in critical condition in Tulamba Tehsil of Khanewal district of Punjab.
According to police, Asim Jameel shot himself in his chest and was taken to Tulamba Rural Health Center in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
DSP Mian Chanun Salimmarth further said that no reason for Asim Jamil’s suicide has been revealed yet.
Further investigations into the incident are underway.
Hours after the reported incident, the religious scholar in a statement posted on his official X-account, revealed that Asim’s death was accidental.
Without giving any further details Moulana Tariq Jamil said, “My son Asim Jamil passed away today in Tulamba. This accidental death made the atmosphere mournful. We request you all to remember us in your prayers on this sad occasion. May Allah grant my son a high place in Jannat al-Firdous.”
