Maulana Tariq Jamil’s youngest son Asim Jamil passed away at his house in Tulamba, their native town in Punjab,
Asim Jameel lost his life due to a bullet injury in his chest, an apparent suicide.
Asim Jamil, son of renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil, passed away in Punjab’s Talamba on Sunday evening, his family confirmed.
According to Yousif Jamil his younger brother was a patient of depression and ended his misery by shooting himself with a gun taken from the security guard.
Asim Jamil was a psychiatric patient and had been under medication.
He also refuted negative news being circulated in the media that it was a case of enmity.
According to Multan’s Regional Police Officer (RPO) Captain (retd) Sohail Chaudhry, “The DPO [district police officer] has seen a CCTV footage that shows Asim Jamil committing suicide.”
The police officer also said that the CCTV footage is being sent for forensic analysis.
Earlier, Maulana Tariq Jamil took to X-platform to announce the death of his son, saying: “My son Asim Jamil passed away today in Tulamba. This accidental death made the atmosphere mournful. We request you all to remember us in your prayers on this sad occasion. May Allah grant my son a high place in Jannat al-Firdous.”

“The funeral prayer of my late son Asim Jamil will be offered today, Monday, October 30, at 7:30 pm in our native village Raisabad, Tulamba,” Maulana announced.
میرے مرحوم بیٹے عاصم جمیل کی نمازِ جنازہ آج بروز سوموار 30 اکتوبر، رات ساڑھے سات بجے ہمارے آبائی گاؤں رئیس آباد، تلمبہ میں ادا کی جائے گی.
