New York Health Worker Becomes First Person to Receive Covid-19 Vaccine in the US

A nurse in New York has become the first person in the United States to receive the coronavirus vaccine Monday.

Sandra Lindsay, a critical care nurse at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, received the shot that was broadcast live on the television shortly before 9:30 am (1430 GMT) local time.

The outgoing US President Donald Trump also shared the update in a tweet.

The US Food and Drug Administration had authorised Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use earlier on Friday.
