There will be no new currency notes for Eidi this year!

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided not to issue new currency for Eidul Fitr 2023.

The central bank said it will not issue new notes to the public through SMS service and banks as well.

The bank issues new currency notes every year as people customarily give Eidi to kids using new banknotes.

It is pertinent to note that new notes policies were abundant after the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020.

Meanwhile, the non-issuance of the new currency notes is likely to send the rates sky-high in the black market.
