Pakistan reports less than 2,000 Covid cases, however, 5 cities still have high positivity rate

Pakistan has reported less than 2,000 Covid cases for the second straight day.
According to NCOC, a total of 48,732 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, out of which, 1,757 came out positive. Meanwhile, 31 deaths were reported.
A day earlier, Pakistan had reported 1,780 cases.
The country’s positivity rate is 3.6 percent. However, five cities still have a high positivity rate:
- Hyderabad: 8.69%
- Sargodha: 7.95%
- Lahore: 7.75%
- Faisalabad: 7.74%
- Mirpur: 7.69%
The country’s total number of coronavirus cases has risen to 1,240,425 and the death toll stands at 27,597.
The total number of active COVID cases across the country is 50,651.
Region-wise breakdown of Covid-19 cases and deaths reported during the last 24 hours is as follows:
- Sindh: 743 cases, 15 deaths
- Punjab: 687 cases, 6 deaths
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 187 cases, 9 deaths
- Islamabad: 99 cases, 1 death
- Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 26 cases
- Balochistan: 12 cases
- Gilgit-Baltistan: 3 cases
