Shehbaz Sharif-Raja Riaz’s meeting on Thursday for the Caretaker Prime Minister remains inconclusive!

No decision could be made on the name of the caretaker prime minister at the first meeting between the outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Raja Riaz.

The statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that the meeting between PM Shehbaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition Raja Riaz was held at the Prime Minister’s House. It was decided that after further deliberation on the national issue, the consultation will be held again on August 11 tomorrow.

Speaking to the media after meeting with the Prime Minister, Opposition Leader Raja Riaz said that the meeting was held in a good atmosphere, but no name could be agreed upon so far.

Raja Riaz said: “With a consensus, we have decided that there will be another meeting tomorrow (Friday).”

According to the announcement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Shehbaz Sharif had invited the Leader of the Opposition for a consultation meeting for the appointment of the Caretaker Prime Minister.

President Arif Alvi on kate Wednesday night dissolved the lower house of the Parliament, three days before the completion of its five-year tenure, shortly after a summary signed by PM Shehbaz, advising the same, was sent to the Presidency.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs issued a notification on Thursday morning stating that the president had dissolved the NA “with immediate effect”.
