Arshad Nadeem wins silver in the men’s javelin throw event at the World Athletics Championship!

The final held in Budapest, Hungary, on Sunday, saw Pakistan’s ace javelin thrower claim Pakistan’s first-ever medal at the World Athletics Championships.

A silver medal in the javelin for Arshad Nadeem with a throw of 87.82m achieving his season’s best.

Meanwhile, India’s Neeraj Chopra bagged the gold with an 88.17m throw.

Neeraj became the first Indian to win a historic gold in the World Championships

In the final event featuring 12 javelin throwers, Arshad Nadeem could not have a good start.

His first throw only reached 74.80 meters, however, he made a comeback with a remarkable 82.81 meters on his second attempt.

In his fourth attempt, the 26-year-old could only reach 87.12m, much less than expected.

The two traditional rivals Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem will now compete against each other next year in the Paris Olympics.

Arshad on Friday made a stunning comeback in the international circuit after battling injuries for about a year when he managed a super throw of 86.79 meters, his career’s third-best throw, to finish at the summit in Group B in the qualification stage.
