Are Quetta Gladiators missing Carlos Brathwaite?

Solid platform wasted due to poor lack of power hitters down the order. It’s been the theme of the tournament more or less. However Quetta, even when they have won, had battled this conundrum. In their last two games, a decent position was squandered when captain Sarfraz Ahmed & Mohammad Nawaz failed to clear the boundary in the last overs. Having 3 fielders deep on the leg side, completely blocked their hitting areas. Even the Lahore team, was able to put one over them quite easily in the end.

McCullum’s leadership shines through a stupid episode

Last night, Sarfraz came in a spot earlier, thank heavens for that. This allowed Rilee Rossouw to bat later in the innings. He didn’t also set the stage alight either, scoring at a run a ball more or less. Mohammad Nawaz & Anwar Ali who keep batting higher than Hassan Khan were poor once again. At this level of the game, players who aims to slog almost every ball to the leg side are more likely to fail. Failing they have been (with the bat). Perhaps it’s time for Hassan Khan to bat ahead of the two. He has shown decent composure and technique in crunch situations.

This was identified at the draft too. They lacked a fast bowler, a spinner and a lower order hitter. Signing Jofra Archer, Ben Laughlin & the performance of Rahat Ali has filled the fast bowler void. Mohammad Nawaz has stepped up as the leading spinner. However, there gap of the all rounder hasn’t been filled by anyone.
