PSL9 Match 4: Quetta Gladiators defeat Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets

Quetta Gladiators defeated Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets in the fourth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine on Monday, played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Khawaja Nafay, the 22-year-old batter, played the crucial unbeaten 60 off 31 balls while chasing a target of 188 to help Quetta Gladiators win the second match in a row.

Saud Shakil hit 40 runs as Gladiators surpassed the target of 188 runs with five balls spare.

Gladiators’ opener Jason Roy racked up 24 runs.

Qalandars Skipper Shaheen Afridi won the toss and decided to bat first against Quetta Gladiators.

Sahibzada Farhan played a heroic knock of 62 off 43 for Lahore Qalandars, racking up a strong opening total for his side despite a poor performance from Fakhar Zaman, who was dismissed after scoring just 6 runs.

Sahibzada Farhan smashed six boundaries and three sixes, reaching a 43-ball 62, and he eventually departed in the 13th over after falling victim to Mohammad Hasnain.

Rassie van der Dussen and Rassie van der Dussen were also removed in quick sessions, meanwhile, Jahandad Khan held the nerves and made an unbeaten 45, helping his side to set a target of 187 runs for the Gladiators.

Sikandar Raza (18) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (12) also made notable contributions.

Hasnain and Hosein claimed 2 wickets each for Gladiators.
