British Diplomat congratulates Mehwish Hayat on her Tamgha-e-Imtiaz
British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Thomas Drew on Friday congratulated Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat on her well-deserved Tamgha-e-Imtiaz that she received by President Arif Alvi on 23rd March.
On replying the Punjab Nahi Jaongi actress’s tweet, the British diplomat thanked her saying “You brought real Karachi spirit and style to the evening.”
Drew, while praising the actress, also added, “And it was good to congratulate you properly on the well-deserved Tamgha-e-Imtiaz you were awarded by the President on 23 March.”
Earlier, Mehwish Hayat took to twitter sharing her photo with the British envoy to Pakistan. She wrote:
“Totally bowled over by His Excellency, @TomDrewUK the British High Commissioner at the celebration of The Queen’s birthday in Karachi yesterday. Agreed on many things except for who is going to win the Cricket World Cup this summer.”
Hayat also thanked British Deputy High Commissioner Elin Burns in her tweet:
“Thank you @ElinMBurns for a wonderful evening,” the actress wrote.
