Freida Pinto roped in for Netflix’s ‘Hillbilly Elegy’

Best known for her role in “Slumdog Millionaire,” Freida Pinto has been roped in for Netflix’s new project ‘Hillbilly Elegy’.
She will be joining in Amy Adams, Glenn Close, Haley Bennett and Gabriel Basso who are already on board, along with Bo Hopkins and Owen Asztalos.
Based on J.D. Vance’s bestselling memoir of the same name, this project is going to be a modern exploration of the American dream and follows three generations of an Appalachian family as told by its youngest member, a Yale law student forced to return to his hometown.
Ron Howard, best known for his works including ‘A Beautiful Mind’, ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and ‘Rush’, will be directing this project, while “The Shape of Water” screenwriter Vanessa Taylor will be adapting the script.
Reportedly, Howard, Brian Grazer and Karen Lunder producing this venture for Imagine Entertainment.
Freida Pinto has already been associated with Netflix, as appeared in Andy Serkis’ ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle”.
