Jason Momoa, whose role on “Game of Thrones” and as “Aquaman” has made him an international celebrity, has shaved his beard for the first time in seven years.
The dramatic footage of the event was uploaded onto YouTube, which has caused a meltdown among his fans and followers all around the world.
However, the act was for a good cause! It was all done to draw attention to a new line of canned water that he is assisting launch with the Ball Corporation and he is encouraging people to “make a switch to INFINITELY RECYCLABLE aluminum.”
“Goodbye DROGO, AQUAMAN, DECLAN, BABA! I’m shaving this beast off, it’s time to make a change,” Jason Momoa wrote in the caption to the video, bidding farewell to the look of his most famous characters.
“I’m shaving this beast off, it’s time to make a change,” he further continued. “A change for the better…for my kids, your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet.”.
The actor is known for his long beard, which is sported by characters he played in Game of Thrones, Aquaman, Frontier, and upcoming Apple series See.
He was seen clean shaven last time for his role in the 2011 film Conan the Barbarian.
Momoa’s act appears to have left the internet in mourning, here is how his fans are reacting to his clean shaved look.
