Jeff Bezos Becomes Target of Oscar’s 2020 Jokes at Opening
Retail giant Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos was at the receiving end of some roasting at this year’s Oscars as Chris Rock and Steve Martin took a dig at the tycoon’s wealth in their opening monologue.
“Jeff Bezos is here!” said Chris Rock as the camera zoomed in at Bezos sitting in the audience.
“He’s got the cash. When he writes a check, the bank bounces,” Rock continued.
“Like, Jeff Bezos is so rich, he got divorced and he’s still the richest man in the world,” the two joked over Bezos’s wealth.
Martin refrained from adding too much as he stated he wants his Amazon packages to come in time.

Earlier last year Jeff and wife MacKenzie Bezos announced divorce after a 25-year long marriage. The divorce settlement ended with MacKenzie receiving a stake in Amazon worth an estimated $38 billion – making her the third-richest woman in the world.
However, even after that Bloomberg estimates Jeff’s net worth $126 billion for this year which means he’s still the richest man in the world despite a heavy divorce settlement. As of now, Bezos is dating anchorperson Lauren Sanchez.
