Katrina Kaif would love to play Alia Bhatt’s character in Gully Boy
Rumors of rife between Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif (Ranbir Kapoor’s current and ex-girlfriend) are long over. The two, Kat and Alia, are now often seen socializing with each other and praising each other’s work.
Recently, while promoting Bharat alongside Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif was asked about one role, character she would have loved to play or wished it had been offered to her. Without any hesitation Katrina answered, “I liked Alia’s role in Gully Boy. That was a lot of fun. It looked like it’ll be a lot of fun.”
Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar, starred Alia and Ranveer in the lead. The film starred Ranveer Singh as Murad while Alia Bhatt as Safeena, his (surgeon in training) and very vocal girlfriend. The film became India’s second highest grossing film for 2019 and earned critical acclaim for Ranveer and Alia both.
Looking at Kat’s recent body of work, one can take a safe guess that she would have done a good job as Safeena (Alia’s character in Gully Boy) as well. For now, we’re waiting to see how Katrina fares as Kumud Raina, a character she says she hasn’t done the likes of before.
