Virat Kohli wants wives to be allowed to accompany players on full overseas tour
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has made a request to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reconsider its rule on the wives of the players. The current rule allows wives and girlfriends to accompany the cricketers for only two weeks or 14 days on overseas tours.
According to reports, Kohli wants the Indian cricket board to allow wives of the players to accompany them on full overseas tours.
An Indian daily quoted a source which told, “The request was made a few weeks back but as it is a BCCI policy decision, the manager will have to submit a formal request first. Anushka Sharma has been traveling with Kohli overseas, however, Kohli now wants the old rule to be abolished and a new policy should come up where wives should be allowed to travel with the Indian team”.
But despite the rule Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma was seen traveling with the team throughout the English tour.
