Kuch Ankahi Episode-3 Review: It’s all about breaking stereotypes

Two exciting new characters are introduced in this episode

Kuch Ankahi is like a breath of fresh air, having old classic PTV vibes the play is full-time a winner. Story and characters started growing on us. The performances are spectacular. In the previous episode, we have seen that Kuch Unkahi has all the classy vibes. In this episode, we have been introduced to new exciting characters Pupho and a “Kharoos” Uncle, Babar Ali and Vaneeza Ahmed graces the play with their amazing performances.

Salman’s mother’s curiosity about knowing Aliya and Salman’s agitation looks so cool. On top of that Salman’s friend cum colleague’s banter makes it even more interesting. It is so refreshing to see Salman ( Bilal Abbas) washing the dishes like a regular normal household chore, this is exactly the action we want our plays to normalize and thankfully Kuch Ankahi is breaking these stereotypes. The detailing of the scenes has been done quite artistically.

There is the entry of two more exciting characters which seems adding colours to the play. One of the characters is played by Babar Ali first time watching Babar Ali in a different avatar. He is an arrogant middle-aged but seems young at heart guy. He seems to be friends with Agha and also has a history with Phupho. It seems that Phupho has broken his heart. He shoos away Salman when he comes to inquire if he is selling his house.

Phupho is like a breath of fresh air, she seems quite a progressive woman, unlike her bhabi who has a typical desi mindset. It is so refreshing to see her having good terms with her bhabi despite having so many differences. However here it seems a flaw in the play is that she is not on good terms with her brother but still her nieces love her to bits which seems a bit unreal. Agha Jaan loves his daughters but why he is not ready to give her sister her rightful share of the inheritance? It does not gel well with his already-built progressive Abba persona.

Aliya and Salman’s tom and jerry race continue but this time Salman has made up his mind to teach her a lesson. He is planning to take Aliya’s house’s upper portion on rent. Tania and her friend’s equation looks cute. Despite Tania’s mother being a typical Desi Mom she is not doing hoo-haw on her daughter being friends with a boy and not just he accepts their friendship but he is also being welcomed in the house like a family. Looking forward to seeing more scenes of Aliya and Salman. Refreshing serial-breaking stereotypes with zero level of toxicity!
