Child’s Play reboot reveals first look at Chucky

Filmmakers have finally released the Child’s Play photo, offering the first proper look at the new Chucky. Seems like Orion Pictures and MGM are done playing around with the creepy doll.

The famous 80s horror classic film is getting its reboot, and the new look of the main character around which the whole flick is build up has gotten a pretty sleek makeover. It’s a kind of similar doll but with a smoother, porcelain-looking face and a slicked-back hairstyle.

The doll also has a named mention Buddi. It’s not disclosed yet whether the doll has the new name in this reboot or it’s just the dress.

However,  this new Chucky who is voiced by Mark Hamill in the upcoming reboot still has those familiar blue overalls and a knife in hand.

According to the film’s official synopsis: A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, CHILD’S PLAY follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.

The Child’s Play series has been running for 30 years. Till date, there have been seven Child’s Play movies. The original first film was released in 1988, which was a massive hit. Lars Klevberg is in the director’s chair for the remake. He previously directed the currently unreleased horror movie ‘Polaroid’. The script is penned by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2).

Chucky will be harboring the same sinister nature and stabbing people, as Child’s Play hits theaters on 21st of June.
