Exorcist sequel on cards

The sequel for the epic horror flick Exorcist is on cards as we get to that the Halloween filmmaker David Gordon Green is in negotiations to direct Blumhouse and Morgan Creek Productions’ The Exorcist sequel.

The director has collaborated with Blumhouse on the 2018 movie Halloween.

As being reported, Jason Blum, David Robinson, and James Robinson will serve as producers on the project.

It is not yet clear if the film will be Gordon Green’s first directorial effort following his delayed sequel Halloween Kills, which is now scheduled for October 2021 release.

The original Exorcist film was released in 1973 and was directed by William Friedkin.

It was produced and written for the screen by William Peter Blatty, based on the 1971 novel of the same name by Blatty.

The star cast of the film included Ellen Burstyn, Linda Blair, and Max von Sydow.

The original film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards including best picture, were acting nods for Burstyn, Blair, and Jason Miller, and the best director nom for Friedkin.

However, it won the adapted screenplay Oscar for author William Peter Blatty.

The film earned $193 million at the box office and has an ultimate cult status among horror flick fans.
