Ranveer Singh does not approve of India’s ban on Pakistani artists

Tensions have been ripe between India and Pakistan ever since the Pulwama Attack in IoK on the 14th of January. Following the attack, tensions between the two neighbors escalated when Indian planes crossed into Pakistan’s terriotory, only to be chased back by PAF and dropping a payload. Pakistan then shot down two IAF planes in its airspace and also captured an IAF pilot who was later released as a goodwill gesture of peace.

Following all these developments, Pakistani artists have been banned in India completely and Bollywood has come out supporting their country. However, there are a few people who chose to make sane comments on the issue regarding the ban

Recently, sharing his stance on what he feels about the ban on Pakistani artists in India, acclaimed Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, the Simmba star said, “I am very cognisant that there is this school of thought that one should not mix art and sport with it, they are two different realms.”

“But at the same time, us as artists and sportsmen, we are not sacrificing the same way that some of our compatriots are. Art and sports are different realms. The boundaries should be different,” added Ranveer.

A few days ago, actress Swara Bhaskar and also Sonam Kapoor too opened up about the pertaining political situations of the region, vouching for peace between India and Pakistan. Ranveer’s stance comes as a refreshing breath of air but will the ban be lifted and we move towards peaceful collaborations, only time will tell.
