2000 was the launch of Google Images and the search engine used a photograph of none other than world-famous starlet Jennifer Lopez flaunting a peacock green Versace dress which created quite a lot of waves back in the day.
Following that J-Lo wore multiple versions of that dress over the years, but this time at the Milan Fashion Week the 50-year old made a number of jaws drop as she donned a sleeker and sexier version at the Versace runway.
Not only the dress hit the nostalgia hard for the fashion world but it also added to some interesting information that the Medicine singer revealed later.
“I almost didn’t wear “the dress”,” said J-Lo who recalled how she was almost, just almost convinced to drop the idea of wearing that dress to 2000 Grammys.
“It’s hard to control myself” star further revealed that it was her stylist back then Andrea Lieberman, who did not want the actress to carry the dress that had already been photographed on other celebrities.
“[Andrea] came with three dresses. I tried on the green one, I came out, everyone was there, glam and everybody, and they were like, ‘That’s the dress’, said Jennifer as she spoke to Vogue.
“Andres was like, ‘No, it’s just that you can’t wear that one. Somebody else has worn it,” she added.
“Actually, Donatella herself has worn it. One of the Spice Girls has worn it. Sandra Bullock has worn it in another color,” Hustlers star quoted her stylist.
However J-Lo went against her designer’s suggestion and opted for the dress that went on to become an iconic number for ages to come.
