Hugh Jackman takes for president in the film “The Front Runner”

The trailer of Hugh Jackman’s upcoming political drama film, “The Front Runner” is out. The 49 years old Australian actor will be playing former American Senator Gray Hart, who was running for presidential campaign in 1988. Which soon turned into a crisis after the discovery of his extramarital affairs. And this affair with the woman named Donna Rice, costs Hart to drop out of the presidential race. The film is slated for November 7th release.


The trailer begins with the footage which seems to be the recording of political campaign, an ultra-confident Jackman declaring, “I’m Gary Hart, and I’m running for president”. As the story develops the reporters begin to report about Hart’s relationship with another woman. And he refuses to believe in the fact that a scandal will bring down his prospects for the presidency.
Vera Farmiga is playing his spouse, Lee Hart. The other star cast include Mamoudou Athie portrays A.J. Parker, a Washington Post reporter. Molly Ephraim is a scheduler with campaign and Sara Paxton play is playing Donna Rice, the actress and model who is having an affair with the senator Gray Hart. JK Simmons is playing campaign manager Bill Dixon.
The film is directed by Jason Reitman, from a script he wrote with veteran political journalist Matt Bai and former press secretary for Hillary Clinton, Jay Carson. It is based on Matt Bai’s 2014 book, “All the Truth Is Out.”
The trailer is released by Sony Pictures, as this film “The Front Runner” was announced as part of the lineup for the Telluride Film Festival. The release date of the film is reported to be planned Sony to coincide with award season and election coverage.
