Rishi Kapoor shares about his character in upcoming film “Manto”
It’s been few days, when Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Manto’s trailer came out, providing glimpse at the film story and its characters. Bollywood’s veteran actor Rishi Kapoor shares about his role on the film taking it to social media.
He posted on his twitter account, “Played this incorrigible sleazy “tharki” (flirt) film producer in “Manto”along with the terrific @Nawazuddin_S . Just a guest scene for dear @nanditadas. Don’t miss the pants being worn nearly at the chest (the fashion those days-perhaps)”.

It was earlier in April, when Rishi Kapoor posted about his character in upcoming film Manto, when there were rumours that he has done wrong doing this cameo role, he tweeted:
I have done one scene in Nandita Das’s film “Manto” in a cameo. Just for the respect and admiration I have for her. Some mischief monger has tried to create a wedge between her and me. Absolutely untrue! I support the film and wish her all the best at Cannes Film Festival!

Nawazuddin, who is being praised for his portrayal of the Saadat Hasan Manto, re-posted Rishi Kapoor’s tweet, adding his comments, “Thank You very much Rishi Kapoor Sir. It is always an honour something coming from you. Loved your act”.

It is also being reported that Rishi Kapoor filled in for Om Puri in this character, because of his sudden death. But for now his character is also talk of the town along with the film which is slated for 21st September cinema release. People have come up with comparing his character with someone actually existing in those times!
