Karachi’s Zahid Nihari makes it to 100 Most Legendary Restaurants list of 2024
Taste Atlas has unveiled a list of 100 must-visit eateries for all flavour enthusiasts in the year 2024
Karachi’s Zahid Nihari has been included in the 100 Most Legendary Restaurants list of 2024.
The famous local eatery located on Karachi’s Tariq Road earned the 89th spot on the list, compiled by TasteAtlas, a leading food review publication renowned for its discerning palate in the world.

With the beginning of the new year, Taste Atlas unveiled a list of 100 must-visit eateries for all flavour enthusiasts having Vienna-based Figlmüller on the top for its century-long specialisation in the Schnitzel Wiener Art.
“Zahid Nihari specializes in nihari, a slow-cooked beef stew, renowned for its rich flavours and tender meat, served in a basic, no-frills environment. This restaurant is a landmark in Karachi for traditional Pakistani cuisine,” the TasteAtlas says about the eatery on its website.
It further added that out of the 23,751 traditional eateries serving local dishes in the website’s database, these 100 restaurants stood out for their longevity, reliability, and iconic status of the restaurant and its dishes.
“These are not just places to eat, but also cultural institutions for their cities. They are ranked taking into account three criteria: longevity, visitors ratings, and the TasteAtlas ratings of the iconic dishes they offer,” Taste Atlas added.
