Anchorperson Imran Riaz reaches home after 4-months of disappearance

Anchorperson Imran Riaz reached home after four months of disappearance on Tuesday.

Sialkot police in a post shared on X-platform notified of the development. 

“Journalist/Anchor Mr.Imran Riaz Khan has been safely recovered. He is now with his family,” Sialkot Police said.

Meanwhile, Imran Riaz’s lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq also in his post on, X wrote: “By God’s special blessing, grace and mercy, I have brought back my prince.”

“It took a lot of time due to the pile of difficulties, the last limit of understanding of the matter, a weak judiciary, and the current ineffective public constitution and legal helplessness,” he added.

The development comes as the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Sep 20 had given the Punjab police chief a last opportunity to recover Riaz by September 26 (tomorrow).

During the hearing, LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti stated that his patience was “running out”.

Journalist turned YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan was arrested on May 11 at Sialkot Airport under the 3MPO after nationwide protests erupted on May 9.

Journalist Wajahat S Khan sharing an update on Imran Riaz’s health said that he had spoken to Riaz’s family,

He added that the anchorperson was “weak and not in the best of health but he’s back”.
