Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan banned by CBFC
The much awaited Manmarziyaan has been banned by CBFC despite being given clearance by provincial boards with A certificate. The Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu starrer has opened to rave reviews across the world however, Pakistani cinegoers will not be the chance to enjoy this film. The film also marked the return of Abhishek Bachchan after 2.5 years.
In recent weeks, CBFC has banned Mulk, a film talking about discrimination Muslims face and Gold a story about Indian hockey team’s victory in Olympics. There has been utter confusion after the 18 amendment about the jurisdiction of Central Board for censorship.
They first banned Muslim drama Mulk, then the Olympic tale Gold and now Manmarziyan. Islamabad has just one cinema but their Censor Board continues its Mann Manyan by not clearing a film that was given A certificate by Sindh and Punjab!!@falamb3 please come back!!! https://t.co/fhmOz9MuFa

The new government should look into the matter and come up with a solution or this will end up in the court, sooner rather than later. From now, many have lost their chance to relax on the weekend, some have lost business because a few men decided the film is not decent enough!
