Ban On Intercity Transport But Ten Special Trains To Run On Eid

Ban on intercity transport amid the third wave of coronavirus but ten special trains to run on Eid!

The Ministry of Railways has allowed running 10 special trains on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr as the load increases on the existing trains during the holidays.

The first Eid special train from Karachi to Lahore will depart on May 7, while a train from Lahore to Karachi will also run on the same day.

As per the announced schedule, the Eid special train from Karachi to Rawalpindi will leave on May 11, while a train from Karachi to Multan will leave on May 12.

The schedule for Eid 2021 special trains is as follows:

  • The first train to run from Karachi to Lahore on May 7
  • The second train to run from Karachi to Lahore on May 8
  • The third train to run from Karachi to Lahore on May 9
  • The fourth train to run from Karachi to Lahore on May 10
  • The fifth train to run from Lahore to Karachi on May 7
  • The sixth train to run from Lahore to Karachi on May 8
  • The seventh train to run from Lahore to Karachi on May 9
  • The eighth train to run from Lahore to Karachi on May 10
  • The ninth train to run from Karachi to Rawalpindi on May 11
  • The tenth train to run from Karachi to Rawalpindi on May 12

The Pakistan Railways had directed all divisional superintendents to ensure train bookings do not exceed 70% of the capacity, implement coronavirus SOPs, and not let any passengers onboard without a mask.

On the other hand, NCOC urges citizens to stay at home and avoid unnecessary travel and social gatherings!
