First Russian discounted crude oil cargo arrives at Karachi port
Pakistan placed its first order for discounted Russian crude oil under a new deal signed between Islamabad and Moscow in the month of April.

The first Russian discounted crude oil cargo arrived at the Karachi port on Sunday evening!
Russian vessel Pure Point — a 183-meter-long oil tanker — carrying 45,000 metric tons of crude oil docked at birth number 2 at the Karachi port.
The cargo will begin oil discharge on Monday.
Taking it to Twitter, PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed his joy on the occasion.
PM Shehbaz Sharif in the statement said, “I have fulfilled another of my promises to the nation. Glad to announce that the first Russian discounted crude oil cargo has arrived in Karachi and will begin oil discharge tomorrow.
“Today is a transformative day. We are moving one step at a time toward prosperity, economic growth, and energy security & affordability. This is the first-ever Russian oil cargo to Pakistan and the beginning of a new relationship between Pakistan and the Russian Federation,” the prime minister added.
“I commend all those who remained part of this national endeavor & contributed to translating the promise of Russian oil import into reality,” the PM said.

The timings of the arrival are great as Red Alert has been issued at the Karachi Port in the wake of Cyclone Biparjoy.
