Imran Ismail handed over to police on 2-day physical remand

Imran Ismail has been handed over to police on 2-day physical remand on Saturday.

Karachi Anti-Terrorism Court handed over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail to the police on a 2-day remand.

Imran Ismail was arrested yesterday from his residence in Defense Housing Authority, Phase 8.

Today, the police produced him in the Anti-Terrorism Court and requested the court to remand him in the case registered against him.

On which the court gave the police custody on 2-day physical remand, and also directed them to present Imran Ismail in court on Monday.

A senior police officer said on condition of anonymity that the Tipu Sultan police in the Eastern district wanted PTI leaders on charges of rioting, arson, and terrorism.

A case was registered against the former governor of Sindh in connection with the incidents that took place on May 9 at Karachi’s Tipu Sultan police station.

It may be noted that on May 9, PTI supporters staged protests against Imran Khan’s arrest in Hassan Square, Sohrab Goth, and Defense Mor areas.

However, the party leadership asked the workers to reach its headquarters, Insaaf House, on Shaara Faisal, which later became a battleground.
