Anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan has been arrested from Lahore airport in the early hours of Thursday morning.
According to his counsel Mian Ali Ashfaq, Imran Riaz Khan was taken into custody from the Allama Iqbal International Airport by FIA’s cybercrime wing.
“The details of the case filed against Imran Riaz are not being disclosed,” the lawyer said, adding that the “illegal arrest will be challenged in court.”
Anchorperson was arrested from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport as he was leaving for the United Arab Emirates, a source revealed.
Meanwhile, a video shared by PTI’s official Twitter handle shows the journalist at FIA’s cybercrime office.

This is not the first time that the FIA has taken the anchorperson into custody ahead of boarding his flight.
In July 2022, he was offloaded by authorities from a Dubai-bound flight as his name was on the blacklist.
