Lakki Marwat Terrorist Attack: Six policemen martyred, including ASI

At least six policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), were martyred in a terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat on Wednesday.

As reported, two terrorists on a motorcycle opened fire on a Police mobile during routine patrolling, within the parameters of the Dadiwala Police Station.

The martyerd policemen have been identified as ASI Ilm Deen, Detective Foot Constable Ahmed Nawaz, Lower Head Constable Zubair, Frontier Reserve Police’s sepoy Usman Ali, Constable Mahmood Khan, and driver Dil Jan.

According to spokesperson for the district’s police, a search operation has been initiated to arrest the terrorists. 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the heinous attack and paid tribute to the martyred policemen.

“Let us make no mistake. Terrorism continues to be one of Pakistan’s foremost problems. Our armed forces & police have valiently fought the scourge. No words are enough to condemn terrorists’ attack on a police van in Lakki Marwat. My thoughts & prayers are with bereaved families,” PM said.
