Over 100 Filipino maids leave Kuwait in 4 days following housemaid’s brutal murder

There are currently 268,000 Filipinos living in Kuwait for the purpose of employment and most of them are housekeepers.

Over 100 Filipino maids are reported to have left Kuwait in 4 days following the housemaid’s brutal murder!

A 35-year-old domestic worker from the Philippines was raped and burned alive by the sponsor’s 17-year-old son in Kuwait.

According to Arab media, a burnt body was found on the road in the desert and was identified as a 35-year-old Filipina woman, Jullebee Ranara.

An autopsy and forensic tests on the body also confirmed that the woman had been raped, police said, amid reports and information from the family of the Filipino maid, who led to the brutal killer, a 17-year-old boy in whose home she used to work.

Her body arrived in the Philippines on Jan. 27 after an autopsy was conducted in Kuwait.

As reported, the domestic worker spoke to her family earlier last month, confiding that she was afraid of her employer’s son. She vanished a day later only to be found dead beside a road in a desert with her skull smashed and her body charred.

Protesting this horrific incident of rape and murder, the Philippines blacklisted recruitment offices for Kuwait and prevented Filipinos from travelling to Kuwait for employment.

It should be noted that there are currently 268,000 Filipinos living in Kuwait for the purpose of employment and most of them are housekeepers.

On the other hand, in just four days since the brutal murder, 114 Filipino domestic workers have returned to their homeland, while more than 400 Filipinos have taken refuge in emergency centres.
