Ramadan moon sighted; First Roza on Tuesday, March 12

Pakistan welcomes Ramadan 2024 after the crescent of the holy month was sighted on Monday evening.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Monday evening that the Ramadan moon has been sighted and the first Roza will be observed across the country tomorrow (Tuesday), March 12.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad chaired the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting in Peshawar while zonal committees met in their respective cities. He made the official announcement following a meeting in Peshawar.

As reported, the Ramadan crescent was first sighted in Lahore and Peshawar before the official announcement, and later in Karachi as well.

According to the Met Office, the Ramadan moon was born at 2 pm Sunday (today) and it could be sighted the next day when its age would be more than 28 hours.
