PTI Chairman given B-Class Category in Attock Jail, sources

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran has been given B-Class Category in Attock Jail after approval from Punjab Home Department.

According to prison sources, Chairman PTI has been given all facilities under B class.

The former prime minister has been kept in barrack number 3 under B class in jail.

Imran Khan’s family will be allowed to visit him once a week in jail.

A jail official on condition of anonymity told that a VVIP cell had been prepared in the jail for Imran Khan. The cell has no air-conditioning facility but has a fan, bed, and a washroom inside.

Former prime minister Imran Khan was moved to the district jail Attock on Saturday evening after his arrest from Zaman Park Lahore following his conviction in the Toshakhana case by a trial court in Islamabad.

As reported, the former prime minister spent his first night in the high-security barracks of Attock Jail and was given dinner and breakfast as per the jail manual.

The former prime minister was given bread slices, fried and boiled eggs, butter, and tea for breakfast after the Fajr prayer.


Jail sources have said that the PTI chief spent part of the night sleeping, he also got up for Tahajud prayer and after performing the Fajr prayer, he had breakfast provided by the jail.

Towels, tissue paper, mineral water, glasses, tasbih, a watch, a chair, and a mattress for sleeping on the ground were provided to him.

Earlier in the day, a PTI spokesperson said that Imran Khan’s lawyers could not reach him on Sunday after he spent the night in the Attok Jail.

“Attock prison is a ‘No Go’ area for (his) legal team as well as locals in the vicinity,” said Naeem Haider Panjotha, the PTI chief’s spokesperson for legal affairs, adding they were unable to take him food or arrange the signing of legal documents.

The Attock jail is located in the heart of the city along the Rawalpindi-Peshawar railway track.
