Rana Sanaullah taken into custody by Anti-Narcotics Force

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Rana Sanaullah has been taken into custody by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday.

Member of the National Assembly and president of the PML-N’s Punjab wing, Rana Sanaullah is arrested in a drug-related case, confirm ANF officials.

ANF has denied that this is a politically-motivated arrest, despite Sanaullah being one of the more vocal critics of the Khan/PTI administration.

ANF officials have confirmed that the arrest took place at the Sukkeki near Lahore, while Sanaullah is said to be traveling from Faisalabad to Lahore.

News sources reveal that narcotics were discovered from his vehicle, which is sent for forensic testing.

According to the sources, the ANF had gathered data of calls showing Rana Sanaullah’s connections with the alleged front-men. This became one of the reasons for Rana Sana’s arrest today.

Sources further revealed that the alleged front-men in ANF custody told investigators that they were allegedly raising funds through narcotics businesses for Rana Sanaullah and that the funds were later being funneled to proscribed organizations.

The suspects, whose information led to Sanaullah’s arrest, were arrested three months ago.

On this latest development, reactions have started to appear on social media:

This is a developing story, further updates are being awaited.
