FC soldier martyred, 4 terrorists killed
Security forces successfully thwarted an attack attempted by terrorists on a naval base PNS Siddique in Balochistan’s Turbat city, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.
The attack, which took place on the night of March 25 and 26, was foiled following the swift and effective response by the troops ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets, ISOR notified.
Synergetic and effective response by the armed forces enabled the killing of all four terrorists in the ensuing joint clearance operation, the statement issued by the military’s media wing read.
“Security forces in the vicinity were immediately mobilised to support the naval troops,” it added.
A 24-year-old Frontier Corps trooper, Sepoy Noman Fareed, embraced martyrdom after gallantly fighting the terrorists.
The martyred soldier was a resident of Muzaffargarh and was serving in Frontier Corps Balochistan.
“Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area,” the statement read, adding that Pakistan’s armed forces remain “committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country at all costs”.
President Asif Ali Zardari lauded the security forces for their successful operation to foil a terrorist attack at the Naval Base in Turbat.
The president, in a statement, said that timely and effective action by the security forces to thwart the attack was appreciable.
He also lauded the valour of the soldiers who carried out the clearance operation and eliminated the terrorists.
President Zardari paid tribute to Sepoy Noman Fareed who embraced martyrdom during the operation.
Reiterating the government’s resolve for the complete eradication of terrorism in the country, President also prayed to Allah Almighty for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks in paradise and patience to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
