Smart lockdown slapped in Karachi’ Gulshan e Iqbal block 7 appears only to be on papers.

As the Omicron affected family members were spotted moving freely in the neighborhood reportedly, despite being smart lockdown imposed no official of the local administration was deployed in the area to monitor!

As being reported, Deputy Commissioner East issued a notification imposing a micro smart lockdown Gulshan Iqbal Block 7 area on Saturday morning after 11 members of a family tested positive for the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

According to the news source, the people residing in adjacent bungalows were also moving freely and commercial activities were also being carried out as per normal days.

11 members of a family were put in their self-quarantine at their home in Gulshan e Iqbal after being tested Omicron positive on Friday.

As being reported the family members had arrived in Karachi from Lahore, and none of them has a history of traveling abroad.

The 11 members, aged between 26 to 77 years old, including three women and three men belonging to the same family, had contracted the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in Karachi’s District East.

The authorities have also collected samples from the people who came into their contact to prevent the further spread of the virus.
