TikTok restored in Pakistan

TikTok, a video sharing application, has been restored in Pakistan on Monday after a brief ban.

According to sources, the Chinese video-sharing app, which was shut down in Pakistan on October 9 this month, has been restored across the country today.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in a statement said, “TikTok is being unlocked after assurance from management that they will block all accounts repeatedly involved in spreading obscenity and immorality. TikTok will moderate the account in accordance with local laws”.

The Tik Tak administration has agreed to set up a mechanism to prevent unethical and inappropriate content, saying that a local system has been set up to continuously monitor unethical content and suspend such accounts.
